Senior Manager, Property Finance

The Group Support Services Finance (GSSF) team is part of Group Finance, partnering with senior leadership of the bank’s Financial Services, Property, Marketing, Strategy, Risk, Human Resources and Legal functions. The GSSF team manages the end to end finance functions for these businesses, and collaborates regularly with other Business Unit and Group finance teams throughout the organisation.

Property Finance partner with the Group Property and Security teams to provide advice on financial management and strategy related to the Group’s property portfolio and property related projects. The role also partners with all areas of CommBank to provide insight and analysis related to the costs associated with the Group Property and Security teams.

Do work that matters

• Provide financial support for all aspects of Group Property and Security including business planning, forecasting, financial control and supporting business analysis as it arises.
• Partnering with the business to understand drivers of their costs and provide timely, accurate reporting.
• Stakeholder management – understanding and managing the financials of key stakeholders, articulate key business drivers and provide value add analysis to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
• Oversight for the Property Finance team which includes an in depth understanding of their responsibilities and prioritisation of their workload.
• Successful management of the systems that support delivery, including delivery of any projects to enhance systems and processes.
• Work with the wider GSSF team to identify opportunities for productivity and workflow improvements.
• Adapt to changing environments – aligning your goals and goals of the team with the broader GSSF strategy.
• Proactive identification of (potential) issues and addressing these.
• Managing deliverables and stakeholders and ensuring the team always delivers quality information, on time.
• Ad-hoc analysis and projects as required.
• Demonstrating the CBA values through effective leadership of your team through coaching, engagement and development.

Property Finance team leadership

• Help drive team goals and priorities including a strong and vibrant team culture.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with all key stakeholders.
• Effective leadership and collaboration across Group Property and Security and Business stakeholders to drive business outcomes and become a trusted advisor.

We’re interested in hearing from people who have

• CA/CPA/CFA qualified with post qualification experience
• Large corporate, financial services experience.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to interact with senior stakeholders.
• Negotiating and influencing skills.
• Strong leadership with vision and values and communication skills.
• Extremely analytical with a high degree of commercial acumen.
• Innovative and able to drive results across a large organization.
• Ability to manage multiple deliverables.
• Skills in talent development and coaching.
• Property experience not essential but would be looked upon favourably.
