Position
We are looking for an experienced accountant to join a busy, supportive and established Finance Team at the London office of CBRE Global Investors, one of the world's leading real estate investment managers.

The Finance Team based in the UK are responsible for the accounting, reporting and control for a number of business lines within CBRE Real Estate Investments ("REI") including both the direct property business of CBRE Global Investors in the UK, as well as its global indirect property business (CBRE Global Investment Partners). The role is primarily focused on accounting oversight and delivery, and management of the corporate finance team.

Key responsibilities include;

  • Team leadership, management and development of the UK Corporate Finance team.
  • Responsibility for a team of approximately 8, including qualified accountants, accounts assistants, AP Manager and Senior Tax Manager.
  • Responsible for work allocation, review, supervision and meeting deadlines.
  • Key point of contact for queries from non-finance colleagues.
  • Oversight and ultimate responsibility for billing, AR, AP, payroll accounting, payment team.
  • Review of and responsible for accounting of corporate entities, including monthly closing process.
  • Review, monitoring and oversight of staff costs, payroll, intercompany recharges, bonuses.
  • Preparation and/or review of key balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Daily review and approval of journal entries, bank payments, finance systems adjustments, vendor approvals and other daily finance team operational activities.
  • Responsible for accounting policies and procedures and regulatory reporting (FCA).
  • Work with Tax Manager to ensure compliance with all ongoing tax obligations
  • Close contact with EMEA and Global finance teams with respect to financial accounting activities and questions.
  • Review monthly upload of PeopleSoft in HFM
  • Owner of accounting system (PeopleSoft), including interaction with technical support team (Governance) and problem solving of systems issues.
  • Managing third party suppliers / outsourcing partners, as applicable
  • Ensuring full compliance with standards and requirements of CBRE Group
  • Other tasks as required.


Key Skills/Experience

  • Qualified ACA or ACCA accountant with 10+ years post qualification experience
  • Strong technical experience with IFRS, UK GAAP and UK Law and regulations
  • UK tax knowledge
  • Strong people manager with demonstrable team leadership and management experience.
  • Comfortable building relationships across the business, at all levels of seniority, within and outside of the finance function
  • Exceptional communication skills, both spoken and written
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Experience with SOX compliance, processes and control environments
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage workload, prioritise tasks, plan time effectively and work to fixed deadlines
  • Self-starter, able to resolve issues with own initiative
  • Keen and positive attitude and enthusiastic team player


Desired but not essential
  • Experience of the investment management industry useful but not essential.
  • Experience within international organisation
  • Previous experience with PeopleSoft and Hyperion Financial Management
