Primary objective of the job:
As Corporate accountant, you will be responsible for a number of parent/holding companies within the Digicel group. Preparation of monthly management accounts, forecast budget and accounting for these entities and liaison with markets in respect of intercompany financing and treasury activities Experience in cost management, and debt accounting essential.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Preparation, of monthly accounts balance sheet, profit and loss, cash flow for holding companies, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and group policies
* Responsible for accounting for company investments in subsidiaries
* Accounting for intercompany loans, interest, cash extraction from market operations
* Accurate reporting of balances, dividends and all intragroup transactions from the holding companies
* Accounting for external and internal debt balances
* To ensure a clean audit of holdcos and preparation of all audit schedules for individual holdcos plus dormant and other group holdcos
* Documentation and process improvement Academic qualifications and experience required:
* Prior experience in a global multi-currency, multi-location accounting environment
* 1-2 years' PQE
* ACA/ACCA
* Reporting and accounting systems HFM/SAP/Oracle/Great Plains/Enterprise System Functional Skills:
* Strong understanding of financial processes, accounting, and reporting
* Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
* Skilled user of Microsoft Office including advanced excel
* Attention to detail with strong analytical and organizational skills.
* Effective communication skills, including the ability to articulate progress, issues and recommendations in a concise manner
* A results-oriented, self-starter, making individual and team contributions
* Attention to detail, high standards of accuracy and consistency in data, and efficient identification and resolution of issues.
* Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate high energy, a strong work ethic, flexibility, a relentless customer-focus and an entrepreneurial spirit
