Overview
Reporting to the A&NZ Finance Manager, your key responsibilities as the A&NZ Commercial Distribution Finance Controller will be centered around Financial accounting and Regulatory reporting processes. The successful candidate will have exceptional analytical and problem solving skills combined with high attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills. The role will also provide the opportunity to be involved ad-hoc Finance & Business-wide initiatives and projects.

Responsibilities
  • Complete month end tasks and account reconciliations to high quality within agreed timelines
  • Close processes such as preparation, review and posting of manual journals and soft close/hard close reviews
  • Work with the regulatory reporting team to prepare and review Regulatory reporting for internal and external stakeholders (incl. SEC, FED, APRA and ASIC) to high quality and within deadlines
  • Perform financial movement analysis and associated investigations
  • Lead team members in the preparation of monthly GST returns
  • Lead the preparation of statutory reporting including liaising with Company Auditors
  • Provide financial support for Legal entity board meetings
  • Present financial results at Internal meetings
  • Participation in various Finance and business-wide initiatives and projects
  • Drive efficiencies across the accounting and reporting processes
  • Updating and maintaining all reg reporting SOPs


Market Skills and Certifications

Requirements:
  • Accounting or Business degree
  • CA or CPA qualified
  • 7+ years of experience in a Chartered environment or an Accounting/Finance function, preferably (although not essentially) within the financial services industry
  • Knowledge and practical application of accounting standards
