The business took on private equity investment in 2018 to support the Group's ambitious growth strategy. This strategy will include further acquisitions, rapid US expansion (50%+ annual growth rate) and the development of cutting edge technology with respect to automation, machine learning, voice recognition and AI within the customer service domain.

The Opportunity:

Finatal are currently working with an exciting private equity-backed Outsourced, B2B, Virtual Communications business based in the North West, who are seeking a strong and ambitious Commercial Finance Analyst to support the internal reporting and MI analysis within the business. However, this role will be much broader in that it will involve closely partnering with the data analytics team to translate financial data to senior stakeholders, along with project analysis and acquisition integration work.

This is a new role that will be taking responsibilities covered by Senior Management and as such there are significant progression opportunities available for the successful candidate. It will be a group level role covering the UK and US business and other operating subsidiaries.

The business is currently looking at a number of acquisitions in different geographies and industry verticals, the successful candidate will be heavily involved in the integration process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and manage key financial metrics for the business, creating management KPI packs for presentation to the directors as part of the monthly reporting process
  • Take the lead on creating a management dashboard within PowerBI which provides a succinct snapshot of the main drivers of the business
  • Be instrumental in transitioning the business from one which relies on excel spreadsheets to 'one version of the truth' management reporting through a data warehouse and data visualisation tools
  • Supporting a variety of commercial projects, including M&A activities, product development business cases and post-merger integration
  • Closely partnering with the data analytics team to provide further confidence in the numbers for senior stakeholders to support forecasting, budgeting and strategic decision making
  • Production of monthly management and annual financial accounts. Liaising with all parts of the business to understand variations to budget
  • Work with the Finance Director and Strategy Director to create the short term and long term financial model
  • Regular analysis of the performance of the business, providing commentary on trends, and adding insight about how the business can react or adapt to these trends
  • Partnering with senior stakeholders in the business on strategic ventures, working across all functions of the business - sales, marketing, IT, product and operations
  • Working closely with management on feedback and communication of the business analytics, being adept and comfortable with tight deadlines

About you:
  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
  • Previous experience with Power BI / Tableau will be advantageous
  • Strong reporting, financial modelling and management information skills are essential
  • Scope to develop and progress beyond current role
  • Exposure to private equity or similarly agile environment is a must
  • Experience within the B2B sector is not essential but would be beneficial
  • Understanding of / prior experience of subscription based business models
  • An excellent academic record
