Business Analyst with a focus on ICT change and delivery required for public sector client in Stafford

Business Analyst 6-month Fixed Term Contract vacancy in Stafford
£36000 (6-month pro rata) per annum plus 28 days annual leave, flexi time, free onsite parking and other generous benefits

Hays IT are working in partnership with a large public-sector organisation in Stafford to recruit a Business Analyst on a 6-month FTC basis.

Role Purpose:

  • To help the organisation to implement technology solutions in a cost-effective way by determining the requirements of a project/programme, documenting them and communicating them clearly to stakeholders and partners.
  • Work with a wide variety of stakeholders including business and technical teams, project managers, testers and third parties where appropriate, to understand, gather and document business needs and requirements, translating them into detailed functional and non-functional specifications which support the delivery of robust technological solutions.

Skills and experience required in order to apply:

  • Strong business analysis background with a focus on ICT change and delivery
  • Significant experience of requirements gathering to deliver functional and non-functional specifications and other business documents
  • Experience of workshop, interview, delivery and analysis of outputs
  • Experience of supporting User Acceptance Testing to ensure that requirements have been met
  • Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall environments
  • Experience of supporting large IT enabled Business Change as part of multidisciplinary project delivery team
  • Experience and ability to deliver documents including:
  • Business requirements documents
  • Functional specification
  • Requirements traceability matrix
  • Business flow diagrams
  • Writing user stories and acceptance criteria for agile delivery
  • Non-functional requirements
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of business analysis tools and techniques including:
    • Requirements engineering techniques - requirements elicitation, analysis, validation, documentation and management
  • Advanced communication skills, with the ability to talk and present complex business and technical processes to a range of audiences
  • Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills to gather and translate business requirements into concise functional specification and business documentation
  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent qualification in a business-related subject.
  • Membership of a relevant recognised professional body e.g. IIBA UK is desirable
