The Position

Compliance (50%) – duties and responsibilities

  • Closely monitor trends and changes of relevant global, regional and local compliance requirements and standards.
  • Drive initiatives to continuously improve compliance and ensure effective as well as efficient monitoring procedures and tools
  • Ensure adherence to global standards (e.g. Code of Conduct, RBBCQ Compliance questionnaire, Global Directives and policies) including regular and detailed review of key business transactions (T&E, Sponsorships etc.)
  • Provide transparency through adequate review mechanisms and reporting (ensuring Local Compliance Committee is set up, managed and followed up)
  • Define local training plan in line with global/regional plan and strategies and ensure employees are trained appropriately and training records are maintained
  • Define local communication plan in line with global/regional plan and strategies and ensure local organizations’ compliance awareness and knowledge.
  • Ensure awareness of internal reviews through clarification with the respective persons and provide guidance on how to handle future cases
  • Ensure compliance reviews of activities and their supporting documents in accordance with local SOP’s
  • Ensure ad-hoc reviews (deep dives monitoring) where deemed necessary and work out action plans to address recurring issues.
  • Manage ownership of internal policies, procedures and SOPs to ensure they enforce compliance and ensure adequate control.
  • Ensure a yearly review of operational risks and define a monitoring and verification plan in line with regional/global mandates (e.g. trust but verify) – RBBCQ and Actions follow-ups
  • Ensure coordination and tracking of action plans resulting from internal and external audits and related implementation.
  • Take ownership of global, regional or local projects related to legal and compliance
  • Support the compliance officer in his/her other functions and responsibilities (e.g. BEIR reporting)

Business Process (40%) – duties and responsibilities

  • Receives problem/value statement from leadership, works with IT/business to frame them into work streams and then oversees said work streams to deliver value to the organization.
  • Influences all levels of an organization to support programs, projects and over all processes.
  • Develops BPM project plans and facilitates working group sessions throughout all phases of the BPM process. Monitors, documents and presents process improvements.
  • Meets with department representatives to discuss cross-department initiatives and facilitates the discussion of potential solutions for areas of inefficiency, bottlenecks, or waste.
  • Works with internal customers to generate solutions to business issues and then plans/implements those solutions
  • Tracks overall project status for entire department in order to periodically report to management.
  • Acts as a change agent throughout the team and organization.

Legal Coordination (10%) – duties and responsibilities

  • Provide first point of contact and advices on internal legal topics (pending litigations, customer contract un-usual templates etc.)
  • Ensure appropriate coordination and communications with external lawyers

Qualifications

  • Bachelor / Master degree in business, finance or legal (or comparable degrees)

Experience

  • Previous work experience (5 years) in recognized law firm, accounting firm, multinational company’s legal, compliance or internal audit function with strong interest in compliance. Relevant experience in healthcare industry is a plus.
  • Preferred: established network with Industry Associations, Law Firms, external organizations.

Knowledge

  • Understanding of the local health care compliance standards and regulations
  • Good level of business English
