Interim Accounts Receivable Clerk

My client is looking for an immediately available Sales ledger clerk to join the team ASAP on a temp to perm basis

My client is a large Not for Profit organisation in central London

Description

• To carry out all Sales Ledger processing and activities

• Allocate tasks to the Transactions assistant and supervise their work

• To post all sales ledger receipts in a timely fashion to ensure that up to date information can be provided to departments

• To prepare monthly reconciliations of sales ledger control accounts for Exchequer

• To liaise with departments to resolve customer queries

• To process the Direct Debit collection of Membership subscriptions and develop systems to improve the effectiveness of the College's direct debit function

• To liaise with other departments to ensure that appropriate information is captured to facilitate the direct debit collections

• To action information received from BACs to ensure compliance with the Direct Debit scheme regulations

• To resolve membership queries and ensure the accurate posting of all membership receipts

• To perform credit control duties

• To produce monthly debtor and other balance sheet reconciliations

• Accurately record the VAT status of all financial transactions processed

• To support the Financial Controller in the development, monitoring and maintenance of financial systems to support debtor control

• Become proficient in the use of the Accounting software, pro-actively suggesting ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the system

• To carry out any other reasonable duties as required

Profile

• A good standard of education and an understanding of basic accounting and credit control procedures

• Good basic knowledge of VAT and associated treatment

• Experience of direct debit processes
