Associate - Transaction Services (Tax Due Diligence)

Description:

KPMG’s Transaction Services tax team specialises in carrying out tax advisory services for clients who are looking to acquire or divest companies and businesses.

Our services include tax due diligence and tax advice such as deal structuring, financing, review of transaction documents, post-deal integration, tax opinions, financial model review and collaborating with overseas KPMG tax teams on multi-jurisdiction projects.

Responsibilities:

• Perform tax due diligence including the review of tax computations, tax returns and supporting financial and legal documents for key Malaysian taxes (i.e. corporate tax, withholding tax, indirect taxes, real property gains tax and stamp duty)
• Conduct interviews and participate in discussions with target companies and clients
• Prepare tax due diligence and tax advisory reports
• Provide tax-efficient solutions and strategies
• Participate in training and undertake research to keep abreast with tax developments
• Collaborate with other KPMG departments and overseas offices

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Law and/or professional qualification in ICAEW / ACCA /ASCPA / MICPA or equivalent
• For Experienced Hires, minimum 1 to 3 years of relevant working experience preferably in corporate tax compliance and/or tax advisory roles
• Strong command of English, including writing, research, analytical, communication and presentation skills
• Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced professional environment, handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
