Description

The General Ledger Accounts Assistant - Temp to Perm duties and responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of parts of the Purchase and Sales Ledger and managing the company ledgers
  • Processing and Raising Invoices using the in-house software
  • Preparing financial documents such as invoices, bills, and accounts payable and receivable
  • Producing consolidated invoicing and dealing with supplier queries
  • Completing bank reconciliations, including entry of payments and receipts of sales - Monthly
  • Processing journals and assisting with month end procedures
  • Completing financial reports on a regular basis and providing information to the finance team
  • Dealing with VAT invoices
  • Credit Control - chasing debt to maintain debt ledger as and when required
  • Weekly cash and credit card reconciliations to identify any variances
  • Processing expenses and other similar query resolution
  • Any ad-hoc duties as required by the Line Manager






Profile

Desired experience and skill set for this General Ledger Accounts Assistant - Temp to Perm role:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Part Qualified in either ACCA/CIMA/ACA or AAT Qualified
  • Previous experience of working in a similar commercial fast paced environment
  • Capable of working using own initiative to anticipate and resolve issues
  • Accuracy and excellent attention to detail
  • Highly analytical and numerate
  • Locally based in Bedford with your own transport
  • Strong Excel skills to include pivot tables and VLOOKUPS
  • Flexible team player
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a busy environment to strict deadlines
  • Desire to improve processes and commit to the role for the next 2-3 years, growing within the position
