The Systems Accountant will work closely alongside the leading finance team, focusing on and analysing the financial systems used by the company to add value and be a key commercial figure within the finance team to provide assistance in regards to systems usage and getting the most out of the accounting system in place

Description

The key responsibilities for the Systems Accountant include:

  • Carrying out regular tasks in line with financial deadlines, period ends and uploading weekly sales using the web portal
  • Collecting and producing regular reports from the system from various users
  • System functionality - Training other users from different teams
  • Adapting and updating security features and capabilities for system users
  • Being the first point of contact for any system issues and troubleshooting these
  • Liaising with the account manager
  • Playing an active role in development projects, focusing on improvements to the system
  • Working closely with the IT team analysing system impacts on developments and projects
  • Creating new sub-companies within the system whenever acquisitions have been made

Profile

The successful candidate for the Systems Accountant will:

  • Have excellent communication and IT skills
  • Have experience in accountancy and a general understanding of accounting
  • Be able to work well in a close-knit team
  • Have a good attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Be familiar and able to use excel to an intermediate level (Advanced desirable)
  • Be extremely organised and meets deadlines
  • Be experienced using accounting systems (Ideally Coda/Unit4 although not required)
