This Group Finance Manager will have specific responsibility for the accounting and internal financial reporting of the UK parent company whilst working closely and in partnership with the UK and Group Finance and Accounting teams for all financial management activities.

Client Details

Our client, based in West London, is part of one of the worlds largest transport groups and has extensive operations across Europe. This particular subsidiary has a t/o of £300 million.

Description

  • Lead responsibility for the external reporting of the UK companies, including the timely and accurate preparation of the statutory financial statements for 6 legal entities
  • Manage the end to end audit process, including relationship management of external accountants and statutory auditors
  • Oversee and manage the daily to monthly cash and bank reconciliations, implement best practice and streamline processes / ways of working to ensure accurate accounting and timely reporting
  • Responsible for preparation of the UK group cash reporting including daily to monthly rolling annual cashflow forecasts
  • Act as a key point of liaison with external banks and internal Group Treasury on cash management, borrowing and covenant reporting
  • Lead the business drive to improve working capital and cash cycle times, implement and oversee tight fiscal controls on CAPEX and operating expenditure
  • Support the drive the continuous improvement of the finance function and its operating processes, implement / update accounting policies and procedures, identify and implement best practise initiatives

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

    Essential

    Qualified accountant who has held demonstrable senior Finance roles within a multinational company environment that operates through a Group / subsidiary structure

    Must have experience of working across multiple legal entities and operating business units

    Must have strong and demonstrable technical accounting knowledge - FRS and IFRS

    Experienced at managing working capital together with advanced cashflow modelling

    Proficient analytical skills and high levels of attention to detail

    Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills in a Group / International business environment

    Advanced Excel skills, including in-depth financial modelling capabilities and advanced Microsoft PowerPoint and Word skills


    Desirable:

    - French speaking

    - Experience in Transport and Rail
