Financial Accountant

This organisation is one of Australia's largest distribution networks with more than 1,000 staff working in a range of roles to supply to a population of over 20 million people across Australia.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the purpose of this role is to provide a range of financial accounting services to support operational performance, and to discharge the organisation's financial reporting responsibilities in accordance with relevant legislation and accounting standards.

As the Financial Accountant you will be responsible for the following tasks:

• To ensure accuracy of the General and Sub-Ledgers;
• Undertake end of month processes including journals, accruals and prepayments;
• Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations and sub ledger reviews;
• Undertake and coordinate year end activities including preparation of annual financial statements and notes to financial statements;
• Prepare and review relevant reports, including FBT, BAS, Payroll tax and Bank Reconciliations;
• Utilise information technology and financial systems to extract data, investigate and analyse information, including movement and variance analysis.

The successful candidate will have the following requirements;

• CA/CPA qualified with a base of experience in chartered accounting then commerce - large corporate or Listed entity.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the application of IFRS Accounting Standards.
• Experience with a large ERP system like SAP or Finance 1 etc
• In addition to your strong technical experience, but more importantly, have the ability to advise business stakeholders on a range of accounting issues.
