The Role:
A very exciting opportunity has been made available for an experienced Senior Unit Pricing Analyst to be an integral member of the Control Team by delivering a high quality service of the unit pricing process. You will be responsible for delivering all business as usual activities in a timely and accurate manner as well as driving and supporting regulatory and Group enterprise-wide initiatives. A key part of the role is to ensure the team is focused on continuous improvement exploring and implementing efficiency gains and enhancing the customer experience. The team has accountability for the end to end Investment Management lifecycle and performs an analytical review and validation of these prices prior to release to the business. The team is also responsible for ensuring other inputs into the calculation of unit prices are correct, for example daily cash flows, fee rates, spreads etc.
Responsibilities:
- Review and validation of the Groups unit prices provided by their custodian and cash flows on a daily basis including unit pricing standing data reviews i.e. fees, spreads, and indices
- Calculation and validation of daily unit prices within the internal in house unit pricing system
- Understanding of tax, fees, spreads and other standing data that could potentially impact unit prices
- Co-ordination with the Groups Tax team to ensure accuracy of tax included in unit prices
- Calculation and producing reports to Actuarial and Group tax teams as part of the monthly income allocation process
- Data interpretation, reporting & analysis to provide technical unit pricing expertise to support ad-hoc projects
- Liaising with custodians and stakeholders both internally and externally to build strong working relationships
- Adhere to the appropriate standards of controls, policies, processes and procedures
- Risk Management- identify, analyse and escalate risks.
- Manage the relationship with IT & Production Support teams to ensure appropriate IT support to Unit Pricing systems
- Maintain a culture of continuous improvement to achieve efficiencies within the unit pricing process
Key Requirements:
- A relevant qualification in finance, mathematics, business, commerce or economics
- Minimum 5-10 years Financial Services Industry experience unit pricing exposure preferred with a fund manager and/or Life Company
- Some experience in investment, fund accounting or fund taxation roles preferred
- Advanced excel and analytical experience
- Enthusiastic and self-motivated with an ability to work autonomously and use initiative to follow issues through to resolution
- Excellent organisation skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritise effectively
- Excellent communication skills including an ability to build relationships within the organisation and externally
