Financial Controller (Future FD) - This well-established and high profile retail brand in London's West End operates a range of creative services, together with retail and wholesale of niche products from a number of locations and business units. Due to internal restructuring, they are looking to recruit a Qualified Financial Controller to join their senior management team and report directly to the CEO. This role is expected to develop into a Finance Director position in time. Key task include:
  • Producing monthly management accounts, within specific timetable.
  • Producing management information and analysis for decision making
  • Producing and manage annual budgets effectively
  • Producing cash flow forecasts and managing working capital
  • Preparing supporting schedules and reconciliation workings up to TB stage for end of year for external accountants.
  • Preparing financial reports for directors meetings.
  • Ensuring month end reports are complete for all departments and trading companies
  • Preparing Profit/Loss expense schedules
  • Preparation of quarterly VAT returns and submission within set deadlines for each operating company
  • Preparation of CT61 on quarterly basis
  • Preparation of VAT, PAYE and National Insurance returns accurately and on time.
  • Preparing accruals and prepayments
  • Producing balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Monitoring cash flow and report to the director on a weekly basis.
  • Managing the finance assistant and other finance team members including conducting reviews, mentoring and report any disciplinary matters to the HR Manager.
  • Carrying out ad-hoc projects as specified by the CEO.

The position will suit an experienced hands on Qualified (ACCA, ACMA, CIMA or ACA) Financial Controller from a small to medium size business who will be looking for the next step into an Finance Director role in time. Strong IT and communication skills are essential, as is a proven experience of overseeing a small finance function. A retail or stock based background would be useful but is not essential.
