Role:
Our client is looking for a Management Accountant. This individual must be reliable and able to assist senior management in making critical business decisions by analyzing and presenting key financial data. The goal is to contribute to the decision-making process of management that will ensure business growth and long-term success.Responsibilities:
  • Gathering and analysing financial information for internal use.
  • Assisting with budget process including forecasting for operating and capital expenditure.
  • Executing strategic cost analysis and business cases for any revenue growth or cost saving opportunities.
  • Developing and maintaining costing model.
  • Developing client specific fee cards and scenario planning for approval by Exco members.
  • For new business initiatives, undertaking costing analysis, FTE evaluation and RFP support.
  • Management reporting to review progress against budget, variances and remediation required.
  • Providing transparency of costs to Exco of all costing estimates and analysis.
  • Preparing and reporting capital expenditure expenses along with variance analysis to management.
  • Responsible for the costing of strategic projects and detailed tracking of actual expenditure to approved budget, including variance analysis for reporting to management.
  • Assisting the company in managing its investment portfolio.
  • Evaluating the company's performance using key data.
  • Making forecasts to assist business planning and decision-making.
  • Conducting risk assessment and advising on ways to minimize risk.
  • Advising on problems and suggesting improvements.
  • Supervising junior personnel.
  • Ad hoc deliverables as may be required within Finance Team.
Skills and Experience:
  • B.Com / BBusSc / CIMA with strong accounting operations background.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Strong investment funds industry knowledge.
  • Strong project management / organisational skills - ability to manage multiple tasks in parallel.
  • Motivate and co-ordinate people, tasks and resources to achieve deadlines.
  • Strong focus on supporting/coaching junior staff members by providing practical knowledge, competence and expertise.
  • Analytical and influencing skills - ability to work at all levels.
  • Persistence in problem solving, seeking solutions through the expertise of both self and others and resolving problems in a timely manner.
  • Well organised and able to plan and prioritise effectively in order to meet deadlines.
  • Analytical/Good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work within a team or independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate across the organisation.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage time well.
  • Sound decision making skills.
  • An individual who is methodical, accurate and diligent.
  • MS Office literate (Particularly advanced at MS Excel).
  • Working knowledge of accounting packages - Sage ACCPAC, SAP, JD Edwards or similar.
