To take control of the debtor's book, ensuring compliance to accounting principles and standards.

Detailed Outline and Requirements
Purpose:
Active management of the national debtor's book by ensuring processing of debtor's payments collection of outstanding debts and minimising risk of irrecoverable debt.

To maintain and refine the debtor's book in close liaison with the company Information System.

To manage and develop a team of clerical debtors' staff and ensure competence and staff motivation with the team.

To advise on and resolve credit control and related problems proactively and enduringly.
Key Performance Areas:

- Reconciliation of debtor -Processing debtor payments off the bank statement daily to ensure debtors book remains up to date.
- Reconciliation payments to cashbook - To ensure the accurate reconciliation of the debtor payments to cashbook.
- Reconciliation of debtor accounts - Accurate reconciliation of debtor accounts to ensure accurate statements are sent to clients on a monthly basis.
- Submission of weekly schedules to retailers - To ensure timeous and accurate submission of weekly schedules to retailers.
- Collection of outstanding debtor amounts - Active collecting of outstanding debtors to optimise cash flow and limit customers from exceeding payment terms.
- Investigation and passing of credits - To investigate and resolve customer queries and pass credit notes, when necessary, while keeping good customer relationships.
- Credit management - Perform credit checks on customers and set credit limits for customers to minimise risk of irrecoverable debt.

Person Specification:
- Relevant tertiary qualification (at least a bookkeeping course)
- At least 5 years' experience in Accounts Receivable, Banking & Bank reconciliations, preferably in FMCG industry
- Experience with major retailers (eg Shoprite Holdings, Pick n Pay) accounts
- Experience with an enterprise management system (eg Pastel, Sage, SAP, SysPro,etc) is an added bonus
