RockStars Wanted! This role is responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting, AP/AR management, cash control and financial compliance. The primary deliverable is accurate and timely financial reporting. The Controller, under the direction of the CFO, enhances, manages and maintains compliance with accounting and finance processes and controls, performs general and cost accounting activities, manages and executes the financial close process, reports accurate financial results and business analytics in a timely manner, coordinates outside audits and tax return preparation to comply with generally accepted accounting principles ("GAAP"), IRS regulations and company accounting practices and procedures; consults with Subsidiary and Plant personnel on business issues and financial drivers; assists with budget development and tracks performance against prior year and budget for evaluation and improvement of financial results; partners with Subsidiary leadership and support staff to proactively develop financial information to assist leadership with achieving financial and operating objectives; uses education, experience and general acumen to drive results. Comfort working within all levels of the organization, including on the shop floor, is imperative. Travel up to 50%. Responsibilities: Financial ReportingProduce and issue timely, accurate and complete financial statements including monthly, annual and ad hoc reporting General ledger account analysis and reconciliation Identify meaningful metrics, create and issue operational and financial scorecards Monitor the annual budget and forecasts. Calculate performance variations from prior year and the budget / forecast and proactively communicate with leadership team Assist with the production of annual budgets and periodic forecast Audit and ComplianceMaintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures Establish and oversee control systems and transaction processing operations throughout the organization, ensure complete documentation Coordinate annual audit and tax return preparation. Function as the primary contact for these engagements and be accountable for timely and successful completion Comply with all local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings Cash ManagementEnsure accounts payable and accounts receivable are appropriately paid/collected, and all reasonable discount are taken Ensure bank accounts are reconciled monthly Monitor all debt levels and ensure compliance with debt covenants Monitor inventory and other working capital components, identify, communicate and track initiatives to reduce working capital Accounting ManagementManage and develop Accounting team and processes Manage and execute full–cycle monthly accounting processes Maintain an orderly accounting system and chart of accounts Improve product costing and inventory control Operational and Other Business ResponsibilitiesProvide support necessary to secure/maintain adequate business insurance for proper safeguarding of assets including post policy period audit support Assist with ERP system oversight driving additional adoption and implementation, process enhancements and efficiency improvements thereby increasing business intelligence Work with sales and operations to identify, locate and dispose of obsolete inventory Work with purchasing to optimize order cycles and quantities Other Duties as Assigned A Successful Candidate Will: Deliver timely and accurate financial statements with an interpretation of results, issues and opportunities Ensure that responsibilities are completed on time and in accordance with GAAP as well as company policies, procedures, and regulations Function as a business partner to Operations, Sales, Marketing and Executive Leadership Maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, customers and vendors; responding to questions promptly, professionally and correctly Be able to evaluate and manage multiple priorities Be comfortable working within all levels of the organization, including on the shop floor Be a self–starter, possessing a high degree of self–motivation Maintain appropriate confidentiality Pursue professional development Have excellent written and oral communication skills Qualifications: Academic/Credentials/Certifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Strongly Preferred CPA, CMA and/or Master's Degree Preferred Length of experience Ten plus years accounting experience in progressively responsible positions, service and manufacturing industries preferred Three to five years of Controllership Extensive financial reporting and business analytics experience, FP&A experience a plus Demonstrated experience with local, state and federal reporting and audit requirements. Five years of experience in Private Equity owned companies preferred Specialized skills/technical knowledge Ability to rely on extensive experience to seek out and solve problems Advanced skills in Excel required. Demonstrated experience with other Microsoft Office Programs (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) ERP system experience (JDE, SAP, Oracle, or similar). Experience with Netsuite strongly preferred Thorough understanding of accounting, month and year–end close processes, reconciliations, accounts receivable and payable functions as well as US GAAP related to manufacturing Excellent understanding of operational cost drivers Experience handling special projects including strong analytical analysis and data driven presentation skills Experience evaluating and developing Bills of Material and Process Routings Acquisition and post–acquisition integration experience preferred Physical Activities / Requirements Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information Able to communicate verbally where one must convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, or quickly Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate computers and machinery Sedentary work; sitting most of the time.
