Empact Group is looking for an experienced finance professional to join their team in providing finance support to operations and functional heads. The incumbent will be expected to become an invaluable partner to the business stakeholders as assigned and will be their contact for all matters concerning financial performance and analysis; continuously seeking opportunities for improvements to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the Finance team. Other responsibilities include providing commercial decision support for finance across the business which includes providing accurate financial information to guide operations in their decision making on an operational level. Furthermore, the incumbent will need to develop a work culture that fosters application competence, service excellence, customer focus and business process knowledge.

Overview

- Support the Regional Finance Manager in providing finance support to operations and functional heads. The incumbent will be expected to become an invaluable partner to the business stakeholders as assigned and will be their contact for all matters concerning financial performance and analysis; continuously seeking opportunities for improvements to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the Finance team.
- The incumbent will be responsible to provide commercial decision support for finance across the business including providing accurate financial information to guide operations in their decision making on an operational level, with the responsibility of budgeting, forecasting, business planning and financial modelling. Furthermore, the incumbent will need to develop a work culture that fosters application competence, service excellence, customer focus and business process knowledge.

Education, Experience, Knowledge Skills and Competencies required:

- Relevant Accounting Qualifications
- Ability to form close working relationships with senior non-finance members of staff - communicate effectively, gaining their trust and influencing them where necessary
- Strong business planning, budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling skills
- Significant exposure to budget planning and cost/variance reporting
- Ability to quickly analyse and manipulate large quantities of financial data, drawing out key matters of significance
- Excellent communications and presentation skills (including powerpoint)
- Demonstrable experience of generating ideas and formulating strategies
- In-depth and practical knowledge of providing cost analysis, business case reviews and investment analysis
- Computer Literacy:
- Strong PC and MS Office Suite skills - especially Excel
- Trained and with moderate exposure to the SAP Finance and Management Accounting modules
- Attention to detail and methodical approach
- Speed and accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure in a deadline-driven environment
- Ability to work with little supervision
- Must be a team player with a pleasant disposition

Key areas of responsibility:
Functional Tasks

Provide support to Operations for:

- Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting
- Performance reporting and analytics:
- Measure, analyse and report business performance for Hygiene, providing key inputs for the monthly reporting pack;
- Review performance with management;
- Develop action plans, re-allocate resources, & update forecast;
- Maintain common performance language and definitions; and
- Provide on-going/ad-hoc reporting & analytical support.
- Financial modelling and analysis of sector and/or regional profitability and establishing turnaround plans for the Hygiene division.
- Support the delivery of applicable key focuses.
- Be an invaluable partner to the Business Function Heads, and be their contact for all matters concerning financial performance and analysis:
- Work closely with management to understand the key drivers of their business including commercial terms, sector conditions and restraints
- Lead management through the annual budget-setting process, taking ownership of the inputs for your area and play a key role at the interface between finance and the business
- Review the budget based on performance to date, and make appropriate amendments through the re-forecast process
- Give management a clear indication of where their performance for the year is heading, and help them to understand what actions need to be taken.
- Provide the business unit and/or regional teams with all the reporting required to help them manage their areas including monthly summaries of actual performance.
- Attend sector and/or regional meetings as a key member of their management team.
- Expect to be challenged and involved with a broad range of project work from supported areas such as the analysis of and input into business cases for new channels or business models, detailed analysis of performance to identify problem areas or opportunities for maximizing profitability.
- Take ultimate responsibility for finance issues / problems related to the Hygiene Services sector and/or region until they are resolved.
- Ongoing general administrative duties.

Service Management and Continuous Improvement

- Drive and/or contribute to the achievement of P&D targets and key performance indicators, operational level agreements and service levels to stakeholders.
- Continuously monitor and introduce areas for improvement by acquiring and providing feedback from/to the customers, and tracking performance statistics.

Planning & Controlling

- Manage costs within budget expenditure guidelines.

Resource Management

- Provide guidance, feedback and reinforcement to sector/regional team members regarding development needs and opportunities, and secure resources to support development efforts as it relates to finance processes.
- Oversee the training and development of the Hygiene Services sector to ensure competency in performing finance processing.
