The Role Responsibilities


Work in the Balance Sheet Management Team in Country Finance assisting in Resolution Planning and supporting ALCO decision making by providing relevant capital and Loss Absorbing Capacity (LAC) analysis, and forecast.

To support Capital Management and Resolution Planning:
    Assess implications of capital on potential new deals / structures. Provide SCBHK Solo consolidated capital / TLAC analysis, and forecast. Prepare TLAC and MREL regulatory reporting templates. Monitor investments against regulatory limits. Work with different stakeholders including Risk, Business, etc. on RWA optimisation. Support Group and HK in terms of capital related initiatives such as AT1/T2/LAC issuance and redemption. Participate in projects that may have Capital implications to HK. Engage in Treasury policy changes on capital and ensure appropriate rollout in HK. Engage in annual update of various capital policies & metrics. Engage in regulatory changes on capital / LAC. Undertake appropriate work to manage and address Resolution Planning requests from the HKMA. Co-ordinate submission of Resolution Planning deliverables to the HKMA by engaging relevant Business / Functional owners and ensuring effective communication of expectations, responsibilities as well as milestones for delivery. Provide Resolution Planning status updates and support to the line manager, for example, in co-ordinating Working Group meetings, Steering Committee meetings, status report packs, and meeting minutes.
Regulatory knowledge
    Knowledge of Resolution Planning an advantage, as well as the ability to articulate what it means for the bank Relevant banking experience, preferably in capital management or other areas of regulatory reporting

Technical knowledge / skills
    Broad business and operational knowledge across banking products, markets and asset classes is valuable; including pre and post trade lifecycle of products across both banking and trading books Strong numeracy and data manipulation skills Excellent analytical skills and advanced spreadsheet skills

Communication skills
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills Track record of effectively communicating with people from diverse background across different levels in an organisation, such that different parties' interests are aligned and initiatives are successfully implemented Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence stakeholders Experience of working on cross functional projects and workstreams an advantage

Other knowledge / skills
    Experience of facilitating sessions with senior stakeholders is essential Excellent attention to detail Logical and diligent Ability to understand and interrogate detailed data / information without losing sight of the bigger picture Understanding of issues around data quality and management Proactive working attitude Highly organised and able to manage own workload Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure Adept at working in a fast-pace and dynamic environment A team player with proactive, positive attitude and the desire to help the team to achieve its broader objectives Familiar with the bank and its structure an advantage
