Purpose: As a Transportation Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for managing a group of five payroll specialists. Responsibilities: Manage workflow to ensure all driver/operator payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely Detect and process issues related to driver/operator payroll; respond to driver inquiries regarding payroll issues or concerns Reconcile driver/operator payroll prior to transmission and validate reports Subject matter expert on driver/operator wages and allocations according to the current collective bargaining agreement Monitor department's performance in salaries and wages, prepare reports for management and work on projects as required Abilities and skills required: Minimum of 1–year related experience Some post–secondary education, preferably in Payroll, Accounting or Human Resources Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills Strong administrative and organizational skills Ability to work independently High degree of accuracy and attention to detail Experience with AS400 preferred General Accounting Knowledge, preferred Ability to Multitask Strong Attention to Detail Problem Solving Dispute Resolution in regard to root cause analysis Excellent Organization skills Team Mentality Self–Motivated Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Requires reasonable manual dexterity.
