Heyland Finance are working exclusively alongside this niche manufacturing organisation as they look to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant to join their head office finance function in St Helens. Due to the ongoing growth of the company, a recent restructure of the finance function has led to the creation of this new role and the successful applicant will be tasked with following responsibilities;
Required Skills/ Attributes;
- Assist in preparation of monthly management accounts
- Submit to Group Finance Department and deal with any resulting queries
- Financial control of stock
- Work with other members of the finance team to continually improve the accuracy of project reporting
- Assessment of prepayments & accruals
- Bank reconciliations
- Monitor overheads and comment on variances from budget / forecast / prior years
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare weekly and monthly cash flow statements
- Assist in internal and external audit processes
- Ensure compliance with prescribed Internal Controls and Group Policy
- Monitor the integrity of ERP system data
- VAT and Intrastat reporting
- Maintain fixed asset register
- Overhead review against budget, forecast and prior year
- Input into quarterly forecasting process
- Ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required
- Input into ERP (and other) system developments
- Review of product margins and variances vs. budgets and prior years
Required Skills/ Attributes;
- Strong Excel Skills
- Previous experience with an ERP system
- Previous experience within a fast-paced finance role
- Manufacturing experience
- ACCA/CIMA part qualified or AAT qualified
