Papich Construction is seeking a CONTROLLER. PositionThe Controller will manage day to day accounting & financial functions/reporting including but not limited to: AP, AR, payroll, bank recs, cash flow management, intercompany transactions & reconciliations, work–in–progress reporting, performing audits and reconciliations of all GL accounts, project cost accounting, preparing monthly financial reports, income & sales tax payments, administration & management of 401K & pension plans, etc. The Controller will ensure that the company has the systems and procedures in place to support effective banking, cash management, financial reporting and conduct flawless audits. The Controller will work closely with departments and their staffs, not only to educate them regarding finance and accounting procedures but also to explore how the finance function can support company operations. ResponsibilitiesFinance and Accounting Leadership Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements. Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and department budgets and actual expenditures.Coordinate all audit activity.Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership abreast of the company's financial status.Assist the company's leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans and compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate. Oversee all financial accounting; ensure that expenditures are consistently aligned with budgets.Manage organizational cash flow forecasting by working in partnership with departments and Sr. Management; continuously collaborate with departments and Sr. Management to assess the financial efficacy of operations and establish finance and administrative systems to support operations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree; CPA and/or MBA 7+ years of cost/accounting experience in a construction environment (required)5+ years as a Controller or similar role (required)Strong knowledge of basic construction practices and related accounting principles and functions with strong analytical and problem–solving skillsSolid experience coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll, and accounting for investmentsAbility and desire to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels including finance and non–finance managersKeen analytic, organization and problem–solving skills which allows for strategic data interpretation versus simple reporting Papich Construction is a proud Equal Opportunity Employer committed to Fair Employment Practices and workforce diversity.
