Our ideal candidate has experience as a hands–on Accountant or possesses a solid understanding of accounting and GAAP reporting, who pays close attention to detail and can ensure first–class financial management and accounting across our entities. The Job:
The Accountant will report directly to the Vice President, Finance & Accounting of Anzu Partners and assist in supporting our portfolio companies and funds in various industries, states, and countries. He/she will oversee all aspects of general accounting, accounts payable/receivable, inventory/cost of goods sold, R&D credits, budgeting, fixed assets, tax and grant reporting and compliance, cash flow analysis, audits, and financial modeling, reporting and analysis. The responsibilities listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.


Responsible for all aspects of General Accounting, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes including entering daily invoices/bills/journal entries/weekly check runs/monthly accruals and special projects for several portfolio companies Maintain accounting/corporate records by utilizing paperless filing and retrieval system ensuring past and current records are available as needed and attach documents within the financial system Reconcile all bank accounts Research and resolve customer and/or vendor invoice discrepancies Ensure vendor invoices and check requests are paid in accordance with authorization and approval policies and follow up on invoices not approved Analyze expenses to evaluate cost cutting opportunities to drive value to the portfolio companies Review aging reports and follow up with Customers regarding overdue balances Fixed asset booking, tracking and reconciliations including monthly depreciation Coordinate month–end and year–end closing activities to ensure timely reporting as well as assist with annual audits Responsible for SALT (sales and local tax) compliance to include compiling information and preparing sales/use tax, personal property, and other tax filings Analyze financial data and generate monthly trend reports and balance sheet reconciliations ensuring financial reporting accuracy Assist with the budgeting / forecasting process and cash flow analysis Create, plan and prepare financial models and other ad hoc reporting as requested Assist in creating and documenting processes and monitoring of internal controls Identify and implement ongoing process improvements Other additional duties as assigned
Education and knowledge base:

Minimum 1–3 years experience in general accounting or accounting degree Excellent technical accounting skills Advanced excel skills Experience in manufacturing industry a plus Experience with multiple location/multiple state and international companies a plus
