They have an expertise within their specialised sector and are and industry leader in the country yet manage to maintain a family feeling across the business. Based around the Dunstable area, they are easily commutable for anyone located locally or in Leighton Buzzard, Luton, Milton Keynes or the surrounding area.

Description

The Assistant Accountant duties and responsibilities:

  • Preparation of Daily Cash Flow forecasts and posting of Bank Journals
  • Preparation of monthly reporting packs for company
  • Involvement in the preparation of Management Information Packs
  • Balance Sheet reconciliations and monthly reporting packs
  • Production of inter-company statements and liaising with subsidiary companies
  • Responsibility for weekly journals and production of accruals and prepayments
  • Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register for overheads
  • Weekly production of reports for management
  • Reconciliation of credit card statements and transactions to nominal ledger
  • Being a main point of contact for any internal queries
  • Any ad-hoc duties as required by the Line Manager






Profile

Desired experience and skill set for this Assistant Accountant role:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Part Qualified in either ACCA/CIMA/ACA or AAT Qualified
  • Previous experience of working in a similar commercial fast paced environment
  • Capable of working using own initiative to anticipate and resolve issues
  • Accuracy and excellent attention to detail
  • Highly analytical and numerate
  • Locally based in Dunstable with your own transport
  • Strong Excel skills to include pivot tables and VLOOKUPS - Sage 50 experience preferred
  • Flexible team player
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a busy environment to strict deadlines
  • Desire to improve processes and commit to the role for the next 2-3 years, growing within the position
