Job Description for Intermediate Level Bookkeeper

**Accounts Payable**

Open mail and review bills. Separate into bills with COGS and Administrative costs.

Deliver bills with COG expense account to Mark Andersen for processing.

Review for accuracy and input bills with an administrative account number.

Be sure to use date of bill as input date to promote accuracy of time period to payment.

File bills in ?To be paid? files in black cabinet.

Every week ? print list of bills due to vendors and review same with CFO.

Select appropriate bills for payment and pay and generate checks.

Match checks to bills and bring same to CFO for signature.

**Payroll**

Work with Payroll clerk and be able to back up payroll function in her absence.

After completion of payroll and processing by Paychex, prepare Excel spreadsheet and allocate expenses and payroll withholds to the appropriate accounts.

Input from spreadsheet to Quickbooks and file reports.

Review tax filings from payroll service.

**Human Resources**

Work with CFO and learn how to do the following:

Learn how to work with the following HR vendors ? Aetna, Group Dynamics for HSA and FSA programs, Delta for Dental and Vision, AFLAC for disability/life, Unum for life coverage.

Be able to work with existing employees to achieve maximum benefit from coverages and be able to introduce new or potential new employee to benefits program.

Assist employees with troubleshooting benefits related issues.

Assist employees with forms, deductions and related issues.

**Administrative tasks**

Using Quickbooks, reconcile checking accounts and check for accuracy in terms of expense selection.

Using the bank?s web site, keep QB cash account(s) current so that there are no surprises in terms of cash usage.

After month end is reconciled be able to use Excel to develop ratios and other analytical tasks.
