Position Description

Opportunities have arisen within the Customer Solutions businesses for Financial Analysts who are commercially focused, highly motivated and have strong financial and interpersonal skills. Other similar positions that arise may also be filled from this advertisement.  The positions offer the successful candidates the opportunity to work as part of multi-disciplinary teams.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Maintain a robust governance and control framework including month end financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Proactively engage with business managers to improve financial performance.
  • Support and challenge business performance and commercial decision making across a number of business areas.   
  • Partner effectively with the business to achieve business and strategic objectives.
  • Act as Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) representative for the business on ESB Group FP&A team
     
    The role will concentrate on financial performance management but as part of a wider finance team the candidate will input into other commercial aspects of the business.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively engage with business managers to improve financial performance.
  • Co-ordination of the Forecast & Budget processMonitoring of actual v budget performance on a monthly basis and analysis of variances to budget to support business performance.
  • Provision of business line reporting packs for certain business sectors
  • CapEx, OPEX, Gross Margin and PBIT analysis and interpretation
  • Monitoring performance against agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Liaising with Group Finance, Internal and External Auditors on statutory and management accounts.
  • Support maintenance of a robust governance and control framework.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Ability to take initiative, identify issues, develop solutions and drive through business improvements
  • The ability to comprehend complex business issues involving processes, people, systems & finance
  • A commercial mind set with strong analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills
  • Influence the business to meet financial/business KPI’s/targets

 

Qualifications

A recognised professional accounting qualification with at least 2 years relevant experience is essential.

 

Location

 The positions are located in Swift Square, Santry for now, but will eventually require for up to half of the incumbent’s time to be spent in our office in Dublin 2.

Travel to other ESB locations within Dublin may be a feature of the roles.

 

Reporting to
Relevant Finance Manager in the Business Unit.
