The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring consistent corporate financial strategy through a range of avenues such as managing and allocating accounts, financial statements, and tax data. The candidate will also be the point of contact for banks, auditors, and tax authorities for a multi–site, family of brands. ResponsibilitiesManage day–to–day operating and real estate company accountsMaintains and enforces a documented system of accounting policies and proceduresManage outsourced functionsOversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectivesOversee the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations, especially their control systems, transaction–processing operations, and policies and procedures.Assist with financial planningIssue timely and complete financial statements.Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report.Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations.Oversee Budget forecasting and cash flow managementManage the production of the annual budget, cash flow statements and forecasts.Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.Provide a system of management cost reports.Provide finanical analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiationsEnsure government compliance in all tasksCoordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual auditMonitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenantsComply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
QualificationsA minimum of 5–7 years current Controller, Accounting/Financial Management experience3–5 years of Accounting/Controller background in restauarant and/or hospitality industry Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics requiredExperience with mid–level accounting systemsMust be result oriented with an emphasis on both individual and team accountability Attention to detail and excellent organizational and time management skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast paced, dynamic environmentOustanding oral, written, and verbal communication skillsStrong analytical abilitiesCPA, CMA and/or MBA credential a plusUnderstanding of US GAAP
