Accountant/ Audit Senior

• Basic to £40,000

Our client is one of Huddersfield's longest standing accountancy practices with an established team of experienced staff who work with a wide variety of business's within the local area. As part of their continued growth they are seeking to recruit an experienced accounts/audit senior.

The client is open-minded when looking at the background of candidates. Ideally they are seeking someone who is fully qualified (ACA/ACCA) however if you are part qualified and have the audit experience we are seeking they would be keen to hear from you.

The work is not exclusively audit based, with a 60/40 mix with accounts as well. Clients include businesses up to 30 million turnover, academies and charities and pension funds so the work will be varied and interesting.

Role Responsibilities:

Undertaking audits of financial statements

Training and the supervision of junior team members

Meeting clients to discuss audit matters

Preparation and production of accounts and tax computations from client's records

Undertaking special assignments

Identify risk matters to the business

Report and present findings to the business, making recommendations for solutions and improvements to policies / procedures

Understand the commercial objectives of the business and the impact made by internal audit

Qualifications and background:

ACA/ACCA qualified with minimum 2 years post qualification experience (will accept part qualified with 2 years audit experience)

Demonstrable track record within auditing and the supervision of junior staff members

Prior use of audit software an advantage

Knowledge of CCH software an advantage

Capability to supervise, lead and inspire members of staff

Results driven, with excellent planning and organisational skills

Exceptional analytical ability and experienced at making recommendations
