Our Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) team works with clients to manage their capital agenda to drive competitive advantage and increased returns. As part of a global team of 10,000 professionals in 100 countries you will advise clients on preserving, optimising, raising or investing capital. Major groups (or, as we call them, sub-service lines and competencies) within TAS include Mergers and Acquisition Services, Project Finance, Restructuring Services, Operational Transaction Services, Transaction Support, Transaction Tax, and Valuation and Business Modelling.

Leveraging an extensive global network, our M&A team provides sector-focused advice on the sale process from strategic positioning to close, and we help execute acquisitions, alliances and mergers. As part of this team you may also advise C-suite executives and boards on evaluating strategic alternatives in the context of transactions.

The opportunity

Ernst & Young Corporate Finance Pte Ltd has been licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore as a capital markets services provider of corporate finance advisory services since 2001.

As a licensed capital markets services adviser, EY Corporate Finance offers an extensive suite of services, including:

  • Mergers & Acquisitions Advisory
  • Fund-Raising
  • Capital Markets Advisory
  • Regulatory Compliance and General Advisory

We are seeking to build on recent successes and continue to grow the origination and execution capacity of the team through the recruitment of an M&A professional in our Mid-Markets team.

Leveraging an extensive global network, our M&A team provides sector-focused advice on the sale process from strategic positioning to close, and we help execute acquisitions, alliances and mergers. As part of this team you may also advise C-suite executives and boards on evaluating strategic alternatives in the context of transactions.

Your key responsibilities

1. Account management

  1. Be responsible for tracking the performance on key accounts with the Asean GCSP’s including organizing team calls, tracking conversion of opportunities, performance to budget, driving teams to be proactive in follow up
  2. For accounts headquartered outside Asean, drive regular and proactive communications with the respective GCSP’s and account teams
  3. Drive and manage the ASQ process
  4. Tracking new funds entering the market and ensure we are in front of them early

2. Revenue initiatives

  1. Track and drive the various revenue initiatives such as integrated services, exit readiness, operational value creation etc. together with the respective initiative leaders
  2. Track and drive the sector push into PE – ensuring sector teams regularly meeting the funds, roadshows on specific themes, wide teams are
  3. Maintain the collateral supporting these initiatives and ensure that teams are regularly updating this

3. Branding

  1. Organize our key events such as roundtables, supper club etc.
  2. Maintain and update the PE mailing list database
  3. Ensure that the firms thought leadership reaches the right PE audience
  4. Drive partnerships with industry bodies such as SVCA etc.
  5. Drive our publications such as the PE newsletter to ensure that they are released on time with high quality content
  6. Organise regular “get to know the team” interaction sessions between EY and individual funds
  7. Prepare, co-ordinate and maintain pitchbooks for various types of work
  8. Maintain databases of PE creds and case studies that can be used in pitches
  9. Ensure that we are branded with a POV around the hottest themes in the industry

4. Building the EY PE community

  1. Maintain a fully updated database of EY PE people across the region
  2. Drive a vibrant, efficient and effective communications environment within the team
  3. Ensure that the right people are kept updated on key revenue and branding initiatives
  4. Deploy the latest technology available to ensure vibrant teaming and team building

5. Knowledge

  1. Co-ordinate with global and other regions to ensure that Asean is fully up to speed and using the global knowledge resources effectively.
  2. Ensure that Asean is making regular and effective contributions to the global knowledge base through sharing of all relevant thought leadership and ensuring these are widely disseminated within the internal network.
  3. Tracking PE investment data, PE fund data to ensure that we are continuously looking for business in the right direction
  4. Maintain the knowledge database and ensure that this contributed to and well leveraged across the PE team

6. Management support

  1. Prepare presentations for various external and internal requirements such as steering committee meetings, monthly progress updates, global meetings etc.
  2. Organise the steering committee calls / meetings and monitor implementation of actions
  3. Monthly PE revenue tracking
  4. Wins and deal announcements
  5. Co-ordinate with global and other regions on various initiatives
  6. Support visits by global leader, GCSP’s in organizing the agenda, meetings etc.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • A friendly, go-getter personality with patience and the ability to connect and deal with senior executives/partners seamlessly

To qualify for the role you must have:

  • Recognized Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accountancy/Banking
  • At least 8 - 10 years of relevant corporate finance working experience in an Investment Bank, Corporate Finance firm or Boutique firm
  • Executed transactions whether in M&A or other roles
  • Good appreciation of the M&A process, PE deal cycle and their consequent needs

Ideally, you'll also have:

  • Transactions experience
  • Client facing experience from a professional services background
  • High degree of personal drive and motivation to succeed
