You will play a crucial role in budgeting, forecasting, business planning, and analysing business performance. You will contribute to the success of the business by providing data analytics to assist with decision making within the business.

The role will include ad hoc project work and is expected to evolve as the company grows.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, together with the Finance Business Partner, the annual budget, incorporating inputs from all key business functions, and aligning same with the business strategies
  • Support the finance business partner with multiple re-forecasts throughout the year, and provide scenario planning around same
  • Deep dives and analysis of the drivers of various cost centres for actual vs budget. Work in partnership with the Supply Chain, Operations and Technology pillars to identify the root cause of variances
  • Creates financial models and implement new and best practice financial forecasting, planning and budgeting processes
  • Provide insight into the monthly financial reports and partner with financial operations to ensure alignment with budget and forecast
  • Analyse business trends, and track key performance indicators
  • Report on customer performance versus original budget
  • Work with the sales team to develop new pricing options, and provide impact assessment of same
  • Performs customer and product profitability analysis
  • Work closely with business operations to pre-emptively understand their needs and provide related solutions, analysis, and/or support.
  • Provide weekly flash forecasts to the business on performance versus budget/forecast
  • Develop and manage a suite of BI reports to aid in analysis
  • Contribute to an ethos of continuous improvement in the finance team
  • Coordinate the budget function within Microsoft Dynamics
  • Support the Financial Operations Team and the Finance Business Partner in providing analysis and input into their processes

Desired Experience:
  • Newly qualified accountant or part qualified accountant with commercial experience
  • Strong Excel and system skills (including the ability to build complex models)
  • Excellent financial and commercial acumen and a questioning mindset
  • Excellent relationship builder and ability to collaborate across departments
  • Have a passion for process improvement and help champion a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills including time management and prioritisation
  • Results orientated
  • Optional Experience:
  • Good understanding of the eCommerce, retail, or logistics industries
  • Experience of working across multiple currencies and countries
  • Experience in using Microsoft Dynamics
