We are in search of a senior–level Payroll Manager, who is responsible for all facets of payroll processing and payroll management. You will be accountable to both the Accounting and Human Resource departments. You will ensure accuracy of multi–state payroll and payroll taxes and rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. You will be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures and will perform a variety of tasks with a wide degree of creativity and latitude. After reading the full description, please apply by emailing your resume directly to Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage all payroll functions to ensure complete and accurate processing of weekly and bi–weekly payrolls for exempt and non–exempt employeesComprise an Exceptions Report after each payroll cycleVerify, set up and maintain all federal, state and local garnishmentsImplement ACH deposits for garnishments, alimony and child support to applicable government entitiesResponsible for adherence to all governmental reporting and regulations and maintenance of sound control processes to protect company assets and advise Management of needed actionsSet up new states in payroll system that meet payroll related state requirementsManage regular preparation of relevant payroll reports for Senior Management, Human Resources and Finance departments as well as governmental agencies on a weekly, monthly, quarterly or year–end basis as applicableGenerate various payroll reports for accounting purposes in Excel, Word and Cognos Report WriterProvide Risk, Benefits and HR Departments with payroll data reports for Worker's Compensation renewal policies and other reports as neededWork with the Risk Manager on Worker's Compensation auditsAudit and review all payroll invoices for departments within the company as well as outside entitiesReview and spot check to ascertain that payroll distributions are accurate and promptly handledMaintain employee confidence by responding to employee payroll–related questions and resolve issues in a timely and professional mannerInitiate and control efforts and procedures to maintain data integrity. Identify key and/or recurring issues, and work to resolve through training, configuration, and/or policy and procedural solutionsCritically review and analyze current payroll, benefits and tax procedures in order to recommend changes to Company policies resulting in best practicesAudit all divisions per insurance deductions to ensure elections are accurate prior to payroll deductionsProvide guidance to HR payroll system users to ensure that start and termination dates of benefit deductions are set up accuratelyReset new benefit deduction amounts and dates on payroll system upon renewal each policy year by division Serve as support to Benefits Team for processing insurance invoices, 401k funding and HSA FundingResponsible for all system year–end tasks including the reset of 401K, FSA, HSA limits per yearly IRS guidelinesSchedule a quarterly Payroll Meeting with Treasury, Finance and Human Resource key leaders to discuss observations, trends and opportunities for improvement and goals for the following quarterResponsible for direct supervision and career development of Corporate Payroll CoordinatorProvide oversight to the various Payroll Administrators throughout the CompanyPrepare and administrator W–2'sDevelop a Company Payroll Procedural Manual for all assetsDevelop a Company Kronos Training Manual for all assetsDevelop a Training Plan for payroll and timekeeping administratorsMaintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, review professional publications, establish personal networks and participate in professional societiesSpecial projects as assignedPerform other duties as required. Financial ResponsibilitiesPrepare and manage budget related to payroll programs QualificationsBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting or a related field5–8 years of multi–state payroll experience running payroll for 1500 or more employees and multiple payrollsAbility to organize and prioritize multiple projects related to resolving priority user issuesAbility to discharge tasks effectively under intense pressure and attain targets Cognos Report writing experience required Knowledge and Skills Ability to resolve mechanical / technical problems over the phone with emphasis on troubleshooting abilityAdvanced PC skills.
