Oak Lane Dental is a fast–growing dental group seeking a Controller to join its Finance Team. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will be a key team member in developing the financial operations of the organization, financial reporting, and working with outside vendors and lending groups. Job responsibilities will include: Developing best practice full cycle revenue systems for patient billing starting from initial invoicing to cash collections, cash management, and transfers between operating and management companies.Developing written policies and procedures manual for all operations including: billing, cash collections, payroll, and financial reporting practices.Working with accounting systems to develop reports which show results by divisions.Developing operating budgets to manage growth and contributions by location.Ensuring the integrity of the financial statements to facilitate reviews and audits by outside accounting firms. Responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll for the company. Analyzing accounts receivable balances and ensuring allowance for doubtful accounts is adequate.Working with CFO regarding future acquisitions. Integrating financial operations of acquired firms into current processes to obtain economies of scale. Ensuring proper accounting of purchase transactions as company continues to expand.Preparing reports and projections as part of the refinancing of the company. Working with banks and other lending institutions to ensure availability of financing for future acquisitions.Preparing tax returns and other state and local filings as necessary. Job Requirements The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in accounting and seven to ten years of experience working in an accounting department where s/he has done full cycle accounting including closing the books, preparing financial statements, and interacting with outside accounting firm as part of year end audits. Candidate will have a hands on approach and attention to details as well as an understanding of the larger picture of how a business operation works. A positive, down to earth work ethic is a must as the Controller will be the right–hand person for the CFO and will have to interact with operations team members and their individual practices. CPA and or MBA preferred. Familiarity with dental office practice management systems is a plus, but not a requirement. Our company is an Equal Opportunity employer.
