As the Controller, you will be responsible for a wide range of activities including preparation of monthly financial statements, refinement of the company's accounting and finance infrastructure, a variety of financial analyses, risk management initiatives and various special projects. The Controller will closely partner with the CFO to analyze the company's financial results, develop financial projections and provide assistance with fundraising due diligence.
Successful candidates will be results–driven, highly analytical and detail–oriented. They should have strong business acumen and experience in freight forwarding, logistics or supply chain environment. Responsibilities:Establish, implement, and monitor appropriate internal controls and policies to ensure conformance and compliance with U.S. GAAPLead internal and external reporting requirementsFurther develop accounting and reporting procedures including daily reconciliations, monthly hard closes, and establishing and rolling forward accruals and reserves.Maintain and oversee accounting systems Perform other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications:Minimum 7 years related experience (Experience in NVOCC/Freight Forwarding companies is preferred)Thorough knowledge of CargoWise/WiseTech Global software (Preferred)Certified Public Accountant (Preferred)Financial services (lending) experience strongly recommendedSmall company or start–up experience necessary with a proven track record of adding value to companies and executive teamAbility to carry out assigned tasks in an efficient and timely mannerMust be a working manager, capable of operating in a fast–paced environment, with the ability to handle pressure well, while being self–motivated and detail–orientedExcellent communication skills, both oral and writtenFlexible, strategic team player with high integrity and ethical standards

This position requires a physical presence in our La Crescenta office. Telecommuting and remote work is not available.
