Position Description:

The North America FP&A?Lead Financial Analyst will support our Consumer OEM's business channel functioning?in a FP&A role in direct support of the business.? You will?work to provide?financial analysis, and function as a business partner to?Sales,?Manufacturing, and Engineering. Additional tasks will include; reporting, account analysis,?month–end close responsibilities and quarter–end consolidated financial accounting and reporting activities to ensure compliance with all external and internal requirements.?? The Lead Financial Analyst will also work with other internal departments within Goodyear NA Consumer channels, categories, and manufacturing / operations

Principal Responsibilities:
  • Reconcile various balance sheet accounts monthly. Provide supervision for and review of, selected account reconciliations and journal entries monthly. Coordinate financial statement closing activities. Monitoring and communication of closing status, troubleshooting issues, performance of internal controls over financial statement close process.
  • Provide additional supervision and review over general accounting duties for SLP Plant.?
  • Oversee the consolidation of Finished Goods Inventory accounting including physical inventory counts, scrap reserves, Intracompany Profit Reserves, and revenue cutoff controls.??
  • Monitor and review intercompany balances at month–end.? Facilitate timely resolutions for all out–of–balance issues.?
  • Perform various ad hoc analyses to support Goodyear?s business operations as necessary
Required Experience and Education:
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance?
  • CPA and/or an MBA or advanced degree in accounting is desired
  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting and auditing experience (preferably in a large, public accounting firm or large manufacturing organization).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.? Working knowledge of SAP and Hyperion preferred.?
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, able to understand complex data and issues with demonstrated ability to think outside the box.?
  • Experience with interpretation and application of current U.S. generally accepted accounting standards.

  • Able to analyze and grasp a situation quickly from different perspectives and create well–reasoned solutions.?
  • People management skills, including excellent written and oral communication, a proven ability to work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal direction and interact confidently with leadership team.?
  • Demonstrates ethical and moral behavior; unquestionable integrity and character.?
  • Ability to support accounting decisions with logical evidence and persuasively present position and respective journal entries.
