Our client is a practice situated in the heart of Harrogate seeking an assistant accountant to join the well established friendly team. You ideally will be qualified to AAT Level 4 with the view to completing further studies with the support from your employer coupled with experience working within an accounts role.

You will become part of a practice that pride themselves with perfection in the quality of the service they offer to their clients and their client centric focus is the core of their value on a day to day basis. It would be advantageous for you to have worked within an accountancy practice environment previously, however you will be considered should you be able to demonstrate experience preparing accounts up to trial balance stage.

Duties of the Assistant Accountant: -

• Year-end accounts preparation in readiness for client meetings.
• Managing a portfolio of clients using Xero, Quickbooks and Sage to produce accurate accounts information;
• Working from the office and at client premises as needed
• Producing accurate client management accounts in line with their agreed frequency;
• Reviewing clients records prior to completing and submitting VAT returns;
• Supporting clients with managing their bookkeeping on ad hoc basis

Experience and Skills Required

To succeed with your application you must be able to demonstrate the following experience as essential criteria: -

• Preparing client yearly accounts as well as management accounts
• Experience / Knowledge of MTD
• Working practice of using cloud / app based accounting software: Xero, Quickbooks, & Sage
• Qualified to AAT Level 4 as a minimum

This client is willing to support study for the successful individual, this will be towards professional qualifications such as ACCA & CIMA.
