Animal Welfare Charity

The charity is the first and only animal welfare organisation in Malawi, working with animal owners, farmers and stray populations. Their programmes include a veterinary clinic, community farm and spay clinics, a rehoming shelter, an annual mass urban rabies campaign and a donkey sanctuary project.

You will review their progress and check the accounts and the P&L. This will be a good mid-point in their financial year to review how they are getting on with the new system. You will be reviewing the new management reporting templates, simplifying or editing as needed. You will also be reviewing the profitability of the veterinary clinic for the 1st 6 months of 2019/20. They have also requested that you help produce their first annual report.

Our partner is also considering splitting into 2 separate entities, they will keep the registered charity for their animal welfare projects but will set up the hospital as a private company/social enterprise which will be generating income for the charity. They would like your advice on how to structure the finances for this new set up.
