Assistant Accountant - Maternity Leave Cover

An assistant accountant is required to play a key role in a small yet busy accounts department in the construction sector.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the role will have exposure to Accounts Payable and be part of the team implementing a new Purchase Order system and also include other Ad Hoc duties and responsibilities within the accounts department.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a fast-paced environment and be part of a busy team.

Responsibilities to include the following:

Accounts Payable:

• Processing invoices and credit notes and matching to purchase orders
• Inputting invoices on to Sage
• Reconcile creditor statements on monthly basis
• Assist in weekly pay run
• Work closely with the Purchasing department
• Assist financial controller in implementing a new Purchase Order system

Other:

• Weekly bank reconciliations
• Support the payroll function
• General administration duties to include filing, telephone reception and other Ad Hoc Duties, as assigned

Requirements:

• Strong numerical and analytical skills are required
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and previous experience with Sage 50 Accounts an advantage
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Be able to work as part of a team
• Relevant Qualification
