Client Details

This Education and Training business has a strong reputation amongst their customers for providing top quality products and require a strong credit controller to recover outstanding debt and look at the current finance processes to ensure the proactive collection of debt and reduction of future invoicing issues. They are an easy commute for anyone located in Luton, Dunstable, and Bedford, Milton Keynes or the surrounding area.

Description

The Credit Controller will have responsibilities that include:

  • To manage a portfolio of existing and new customers for the purpose of controlling, reducing and maintaining debt
  • Achieve high volumes of daily credit control, documenting call activity - promised payments - instalments
  • Meeting with customers and interacting directly to arrange payment plans
  • Working effectively within time sensitive environment to maintain ledgers
  • Log customer disputes, ensuring the level of detail is sufficient for analysing root cause issues and resolving queries
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders and working effectively across the Finance Department
  • Production of Monthly debt reports
  • Reconciliation on the in house Financial Accounting Software
  • Attend any meetings as required
  • Any ad-hoc tasks as required by Line Manager

Profile

The successful Credit Controller will have:

  • Previous experience in a Credit Control role - Essential
  • Previous experience in dealing with face to face interaction (credit environment) - Essential
  • Strong IT skills - particularly Excel
  • Ability to communicate with customers and staff at all levels of the organisation (essential) with excellent telephone manner and customer service
  • To have negotiation skills in relation to credit control - Essential
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail - Essential
  • Ability to work well within a team and approachable nature - Essential
  • Good organisational skills and ability to work to deadlines - Essential
  • A pro-active personality with an ability to take ownership of processes - Desirable
  • AAT Qualification - Desirable
