Job Purpose: To lead the management of the Regions both USA and LATAM South American countrys financial and statutory reporting processes, preparation and consolidation of subsidiary accounts and reporting packs under IFRS, and the co–ordination of year–end and ad–hoc audits.Lead and manage the centralized shared service finance function, accounts receivable, payable, treasury and tax.The ideal Regional Financial Controller will be a Qualified Accountant with at least 7 years' experience in a high–pressured financial environment. The ideal candidate will be strong in three key areas: firstly they will be technically excellent, secondly, they will possess the gravitas to drive change and thrive in a high–pressure environment, and thirdly have experience of running a shared service finance function dealing with multi jurisdictional and Spanish speaking businesses.Business Growth and ReputationProvide the financial and commercial interface with the schools throughout the region, ensuring integrity of financial and business transactional systems and processes in the business units.Ensure appropriate communication mechanisms are in place to support the group and regions internal and external requirements, policies, procedures and compliance.Maintain and develop relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, group colleagues in London Head Office, regional colleagues and business unit colleagues in schools throughout USA and South America.Contribute to the schools and regions financial strategy and decision making.Strategic & Organisational LeadershipStatutory AccountingResponsibility for preparation of the Company Annual and Interim Reports US GAAP and IFRS including full interaction with external audit teams.Responsibility for preparation and filing of all centrally managed statutory accounts.Responsibility for review and integrity of business unit (school) statutory accounts.Responsibility for the accounting of any holding or dormant companiesReview and initial sign off of Management Certification Questionnaire (MCQ) document.Integration of any acquisition, Purchase Price Allocation work and FVAs impact on B/S.Leading compliance of new schools accounting with group accounting policies.Leading on Opening Balance sheet work with new acquisitions.Ensuring IFRS adjustments in the base ledgers appropriately recorded and monitoring each month end to ensure accurate, where required.Ensuring compliance of accounting policies and procedures within business units.Responsible to review company structure and ensure most efficient and work with Group to reorganise if required.Analysis of month end balance sheet identifying reasons for movements and variances to budget/forecast.Work with Group FC to align and enhance and standardise financial reportsEnsure all reporting deliverables are sent on time and in the correct format for both month end, actual and quarterly reporting.Business Accounting and Systems IntegrityProvide a financial and commercial interface within each business unit/school, ensuring integrity of financial and business transactional systems and processes in the Business Units.Work with Group colleagues to develop and implement financial and commercial processes and systems that are consistent, robust, auditable and secure.Encourage Best Practice processes across the region.Ensure all new acquisitions and new green field schools are consolidated accurately into the existing Group reporting structure.Business Improvement ManagementContinual review of business unit efficiency to ensure it meets the needs of the business.Ensuring appropriate and relevant information is provided to the business units.Improve the business focus and presentation of information.Operational Expertise & Resource ManagementManagement Accounting and Business AnalystInterpret financial; transactions, contracts or events providing appropriate analysis and feedback to users who must make economic or business decisions.Interpret, review, approve and ensure completion of balance sheet and bank reconciliationsTransaction Management Centralised Shared ServicesOversee the centralised transaction processing and integrity of purchase and expense transactions.Manage appropriate challenge, improvement and change.Manage Accounts Receivable for shared financial services and ensure customer satisfaction is paramount. Includes invoice processing, accounts receivables, collections, payments etc.Manage Accounts Payable for shared financial services, payment approvals, pay runs etc.Tax and TreasuryOversee Tax and compliance for the USA and all LATAM business units, including finding optimal tax solutions.Manage the banking relationships, ensuring strict controls and complianceManage cashflow forecasting and treasury function for the regionIdentify opportunities for maximising cashflowsDeveloping TalentResource and People ManagementContinually review resources to ensure an adequate level with the correct knowledge base and skill sets are in place to meet the needs of the business.Provide effective leadership and ensure development of the school Finance Team to ensure all business objectives are met.Provide performance and line management to your team
