Client Details

My client is a property company based in Central London. They are an international industry leader with offices in New York, Paris and Berlin. there is therefore great opportunity to move laterally within the company, as well as internal promotion.

Description

Responsibilities for the Property Accountant will be:

  • Preparing draft and issuing quarterly and monthly rent/service charge demands in line with leases
  • Preparing draft insurance recharges annually
  • Drafting Service Charge Budgets for Portfolio of Properties (c. £2.million Service Charge pa)
  • Liaising with Building Managers, Facilities Teams, Asset Managers and Suppliers to collect information for Budgeting purposes
  • Assist with implementation of 10year Asset Replacement plans and effect on service charges
  • Approval of and allocation of Suppliers invoices to relevant service charge cost codes
  • Approval of Purchase Orders in line with Service Charge Budgets and cost codes
  • Drafting service charge reconciliations for issue to tenants in line with industry expectations
  • Assisting tenants with Insurance Claims & liaising with brokers
  • Updating of Property Management Software tenancy schedule, including new leases, rent reviews, lease terminations etc
  • Managing Tenant relationship with Finance department
  • Oversee credit control and arrears reporting
  • Drafting service charge void costs for including in quarterly management accounts
  • Preparation of quarterly service charge expenditure with relevant building managers for commentary and justification
  • Monthly preparation balance sheet reconciliation with service charges incl. full supporting commentary
  • Any other duties as assigned

Profile

The successful Property Accountant will have:

  • Strong IT skills essential (in particular Excel)
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Works well in a multi-discipline team
  • Analytical and investigative skills, logical reasoning and problem-solving
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
