Financial Controller
The plant controller position functions as a business partner with plant and financial management to effectively manage and control the local business. Leads the financial staff at the plant and is accountable for plant–level responsibilities including general accounting, payables, order entry, billing, cost accounting, bill of materials, business analysis, financial reporting, sales management, and computer operations. Will also liaison with corporate financial staff, as required.

Responsibilities
? ??????? Prepare monthly reports of results, monthly forecasts, annual operating plan, and strategic planning.

? ??????? Responsible for internal controls at the plant for operations, sales, and finance.

? ??????? Analyze and accurately report the current month?s financial results to the plant, sales, and corporate management in accordance with corporate format and time requirements.

? ??????? Submit all financial transactions, transmissions, and reporting on a timely and accurate basis.

? ??????? Ensure the accuracy of the physical inventory and reported results. Investigate and explain the book to physical adjustments.

? ??????? Manage a small staff of accounts payable and account receivable.

o ?? This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.

? ??????? Manage account reconciliations.

? ??????? Reconcile all inter–company accounts monthly.

? ??????? Manage Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.

o ?? Ensure bill of material and costing accurately reflect production operations.

? ??????? Conduct formal monthly meetings with manufacturing, finance, and sales management personnel to discuss monthly financials for the plant.

? ??????? Develop and document business processes and enhance accounting procedures to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

o ?? Analyze internal controls to ensure assets are adequately safeguarded and results are accurately reported.

? ??????? Provide financial analyses as needed, for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.

? ??????? Analyze potential excess and obsolete (stranded) inventory items monthly.

? ??????? Manage and Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

? ??????? Assure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Policies. Resolve questions of GAAP and internal controls with corporate financial management.

? ??????? Manage a business division with major organizational impact.

? ??????? Coordinate the provision of information to the corporate bank and external auditors for their audits.

Qualifications include the following:
? ??????? 10+ years? progressive financial experience

? ??????? Bachelor?s degree in finance, economics or accounting

? ??????? CPA certified required

? ??????? Master?s in Finance/MBA preferred

? ??????? CMA preferred

? ??????? Prior experience of working in a private equity environment preferred

? ??????? Working knowledge of US generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

Working Conditions:
? ??????? Primarily in an office environment. Will be expected to travel as needed to company subsidiaries, as well as to potential acquisitions to assist in due diligence.

? ??????? This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, multi–function copiers, and filing cabinets.

? ??????? Hours of working are expected to be 8:00 am through 5:00 pm Monday to Friday with periodic weekend or evening work expected.
