THE COMPANY:

This is a brand newly created role working for one of the UK's top leading retail businesses. This company has over 60 years experience in their field, and is a trusted, reputable and highly prestigious household brand.

Due to a recent restructure at the senior management level, the Head Office are now looking to hire a commercially astute, business minded Commercial Finance Manager to join the the team in a standalone role.

THE JOB:

The role of Commercial Finance Manager, will work on the Property side of the business, and report directly to the CFO. The role will be working both on and off site, and will be responsible for travelling to various business locations across the UK identifying new opportunities for the business.

The key duties of this role will include:
  • Lead the ongoing strategic review of business locations using demographic modelling systems
  • Conduct thorough analysis and assist in the decision process
  • Assist in new acquisitions in line with the commercial strategy
  • Work with developers and the property team to deliver a refreshed portfolio
  • Budgeting and forecasting for rent / rates, Repairs and Maintenance, Utilities and Depreciation
  • Analysis and forecasting of dilapidations provision as a result of strategic property reviews
  • Assisting the Finance Director and property team in any negotiations and tenders - data consolidation and cost modelling
  • Supporting the Finance Director and commercial team with any projects or initiatives as required to achieve the overall business goals

THE PERSON:

The successful candidate will have:
  • Enthusiastic, proactive and positive 'can do' attitude
  • Resilient and dynamic approach to getting things done
  • Previous demonstrable experience of supporting multiple regional management teams in a fast pace commercial/retail environment desirable but not essential
  • Proven ability to manage expectations, work on own initiative and prioritise heavy workloads effectively
  • Professional finance qualification (CIMA / ACA / ACCA)
