Due to growth in the business, my client is looking for an experienced Financial Manager to join their team for a three month period. This role offers a career interim the chance to hit the ground running and support the finance team leading up to year end, or a candidate who wishes to go from interim to permanent the opportunity to work for an inspiring CFO who will coach and develop your commercial finance skills.

Client Details

The Finance department is an extremely streamlined function and they are looking to expand and bring in a Finance Manager into a newly created position within their team.

Description

  • Support in fundraising activities
  • All accounting and technical updates
  • Closing of the monthly accounts and all supporting analyses and reconciliations
  • Working alongside the FP&A manager in preparation of the monthly management accounts
  • Input into the financial budgets and forecasting
  • Raise sales invoices, process purchase invoices, pay suppliers and resolve associated queries
  • Liaise with HR and external payroll providers on monthly payroll
  • Manage banking and credit control
  • Budgeting for grant funded applications and production of quarterly cost returns / monitoring
  • Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns, ensuring compliance with VAT regulations
  • Preparation of R&D tax credit claims and other tax compliance with external advisor support
  • Implementation of tight cash flow management and forecasting procedures
  • Production of annual report, including supporting papers for the auditors
  • Manage the annual external audit process
  • Identification and implementation of improvements in reporting to Netsuite
  • Implementation and documentation of SOPs for all financial processes

Profile

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
  • Ability to prioritise responsibilities and tasks, and coach others to do similar
  • Excellent thoroughness and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, able to partner with colleagues of all levels, senior management and external partners
  • A "team player", consistently modelling positive, collaborative behaviours
  • Organisation skills
  • Strong IT skills (financial reporting packages as well as Excel)
  • Ability to delegate tasks, allocate work and supervise others
  • Experience within SME businesses
  • Industry exposure - tech, life sciences, software
