Description

The Credit Control aSSISTANT will have responsibilities that include:

  • To manage a portfolio of existing and new customers for the purpose of controlling, reducing and maintaining debt
  • Setting up of payments plans and high levels of face to face interaction
  • Processing of cash and other payment methods, accurately recorded
  • Processing of invoices, charges and receipts on to accounts
  • Provide accurate and timely reports on debtor accounts
  • Production of Monthly reports and journals for authorisation
  • Achieve high volumes of daily credit control, documenting call activity - promised payments - instalments
  • Log customer disputes, ensuring the level of detail is sufficient for analysing root cause issues
  • Achieve high level collection results for nominated accounts reducing and then maintaining aged debt position
  • To provide speedy solutions for document requests
  • Releasing orders in line with credit policy and updating list daily for stream stakeholders
  • Attend any meetings as required
  • Other ad-hoc duties as required by Line Manager

Profile

The successful Credit Control Assistant will have:

  • Demonstrable experience in a credit control and accounts environment - Essential
  • Microsoft Office skills namely Excel (Vlookups / Pivot Tables) - Essential
  • Ability to communicate with customers and staff at all levels of the organisation (essential) with a professional manner - Essential
  • Excellent customer service with both internal and external stakeholders - Essential
  • Knowledge of function within complex organisation and liaising with across multiple departments - Essential
  • Knowledge of financial and legal terms related to credit control - Essential
  • Ability to work in a pressured environment and ensure deadlines are met - Essential
  • Excellent attention to detail and highly numerate - Essential
  • Ability to prioritise and constantly drive towards improving process - Essential
  • To have negotiation skills in relation to credit control - Essential
  • Institute of Credit Management member - Desirable
  • A pro-active personality with an ability to take ownership of processes - Desirable
  • Graduate or equivalent level experience - Desirable
