Critical Project Accountant role to help in the running of numerous key projects for a national consultancy

Client Details

My client provides environmental planning, design and management services, specifically focussing on the construction, landscaping and ecology sectors. They operate out of five major UK hubs, with the bulk of senior finance based in the office in Central Bristol.

The Project Accountant will work directly with the Financial Controller and Finance Director and be responsible for constant liaison with Project Managers and Project Directors, helping to manage invoicing, budgeting and forecasting for up to 60 new projects every month

Description

The Project Accountant reports to the Financial Controller and is responsible for providing project accounting services, including:

  • Supporting the project teams setting up/maintaining projects;
  • Ensuring projects have all necessary accounting information;
  • Critically reviewing monthly work in progress with project managers/directors;
  • Providing ad hoc training to staff on the project accounting system;
  • Regular involvement in managing the finances on our largest projects;
  • Review and critically assess project profitability;
  • Producing both regular and ad hoc reports from the system.

You will also assist the Financial Controller in other matters as required e.g. preparation of monthly management accounts, working capital analysis and annual audit of statutory accounts.
