My client is seeking an experienced Project Accountant to join this growing Finance division based in Abingdon.

Description

The Project Accountant will be partnering with Sales and Operations and will be responsible for a number of key project accounting and traditional accounting tasks, encompassing but not limited to the following:

  • Ownership of the order in-take process for all won business, applying rigour to the contractual documentation received prior to commencement of works
  • Setting up new customers and the co-ordination of initial and on-going credit checks
  • Creation and upkeep of projects and project Information throughout the procure to pay lifecycle
  • Take lead on project billing and issuing of sales invoices out to customers
  • Assist with the collection of cash, being the initial point of contact for customer queries and partner, where needed with the sales team regarding dispute resolution
  • Supporting & upskilling non-financial people with the raising of project and non-project purchase orders, reviews of classification and management/monitoring of purchase order statuses
  • Working with AP to investigate any PO variances and assist with the clearing on-hold reports
  • Issuing of weekly GNRI reports to department heads
  • Ad-hoc project audits to ensure compliance with internal controls and project outcomes
  • Ad-hoc decision support on project acceptance, working alongside UK Controller and Commercial Director
  • Management of Database and monthly presentation of analytics to the relevant stakeholders
  • Developing effective partnerships throughout the business
  • Willingness to learn and development and take on more/new responsibility
  • Profile

    The successful Project Accountant will ideally have:

    • Significant experience in a previous accounting role, ideally within a project based environment
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as business partnering across the business with senior stake holders within the role is a key element
    • Be able to work within an environment of high-growth, high-business change to achieve desired outcomes
    • Strong Excel skills and previous experience with a large ERP system
    • Part Qualified in ACCA/CIMA or qualified by experience

    Job Offer

    The salary on offer for the Project Accountant will be in the range £30,000 - £35,000 dependent upon experience and level of qualification, plus a generous benefits package.
