Group Financial Accountant

The Role:

A very exciting opportunity has been made available for an experienced Group Financial Accountant to take responsibility for assisting the financial reporting team in the processes of consolidation, preparation of financial statements and meeting the audit requirements of the business. You will also be responsible for implementing and maintaining effective and efficient internal controls within the financial reporting processes and ensuring SOX compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with monthly consolidation of the groups AUNZ's subsidiaries financials
  • Assisting with preparation of the half-yearly and year-end financial statements
  • Contributing to analysing financial information and preparation of reports to the Board, financial analyst presentations, ASX reporting and other internal and external reporting as and when required
  • Review and documentation of the operating entities' controls as required to comply with the the SOX requirements
  • Contributing to implementation and maintenance of the financial reporting processes internal controls to ensure SOX compliance and interaction with SOX and internal auditors
  • Interacting with internal stakeholders in order to perform tasks across the financial reporting and compliance areas
  • Assisting, where required, in providing support in other related aspects of financial reporting and compliance

Key Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and CA/CPA Qualified
  • Relevant media or marketing industry experience extremely desirable
  • 3+ years in a finance environment
  • Excellent Excel skills - pivot tables/vlookups & hlookups essential
  • Detailed knowledge of accounting practices within the finance industry.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and listening) with an ability to communicate complex and/or financial issues in an understandable manner
  • Ambitious and driven attitude with a strong desire to improve and progress
