The Senior Payroll Team Leader is initially a 12 month contract which could be extended/go permanent
Key responsibilities will include:
- Ensure the payroll dept. works efficiently and effectively especially over key trading periods.
- Assess and distribute work amongst staff ensuring a fully efficient weekly, lunar and monthly payroll operation and the team's ability to meet all Company deadlines
- Review of payrolls prior to submitting.
- Regular review of pension arrangements, student loans, SMP, SPP, SSP and other key elements of the payroll.
- Performing/reviewing all payroll month-end procedures and all reporting.
- Liaison with the relevant tax authorities.
- Resolving high level payroll enquiries.
- Working with HR/Retail/Finance to ensure matters are efficiently resolved.
- Maintaining professional payroll knowledge - UK, Jersey & IOM and EIRE jurisdictions.
- Process head office payroll & any other confidential payrolls.
- Undertake one-off projects relating to payroll improvements/audits.
Staff Responsibilities:
- Working with other senior payroll members in a flexible and adaptable way.
- Regular staff communication regarding all payroll matters.
- Staff training and development.
- Staff motivation.
- Organize, provide, preliminary input and perform staff appraisals (with a Finance Representative).
Profile
In order to apply for the role you should:
Have previous experience in a Payroll Manager/Team Leader role
Be available to consider a 12 month contract initially
