A permanent contract for a Group Management Accountant for a successful business based in Skelmersdale.

Client Details

A leading manufacturer based in Skelmersdale with a billion pound global turnover, and growing on an international level, this business has over 800 employees with several sites across the UK. They now have an opportunity for a Group Management Accountant to join on a permanent basis.

Description

This role will report directly into a dynamic and progressive Finance Manager and will cover the following duties:

  • Management of the budget and reforecasting process for payroll overheads
  • Payroll overheads reporting on a monthly basis, supporting payroll overhead meetings with the Executive and Senior Management team to review spend and make recommendations for improvements, as well as presenting costs in monthly finance meetings
  • Analysing variances to budget and forecasts
  • Analysing capex project costs and and reforecasting, administration of capex requests
  • Carrying out all balance sheet reconciliations for all activities and posting associated journals
  • Supporting and co-ordinating the audit process
  • Ensuring all transactions are processed efficiently and meeting the agreed SLAs
  • Reviewing existing processes and controls to identify improvement opportunities and making sure any required changed are made
  • Supporting other bank and accounting activities as required
  • Playing a pivotal role in key projects within the business

Profile

Applicants to the Group Management Accountant role must meet the following skills and experience:

  • CIMA/ACCA part qualified/finalist level with ambitions to qualify
  • Strong technical knowledge, ideally with experience of payroll and/or capex management
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent Excel skills - formulas, reports, pivots, data manipulation
  • Strong communication skills and able to liaise and influence across all levels
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Experience of identifying, developing and implementing process improvements
  • Self motivated with a desire and passion to progress within the business
